Why is dental hygiene important?

At St. Joseph Orleans Dental Centre, early detection and prevention are key to good oral health.

With regular checkups from a dental hygienist, we'll be able to evaluate your particular dental hygiene risks and needs and tailor your oral health care and dental cleanings just for you.

What happens at a hygiene appointment?

Our dental hygienists will begin with a comprehensive soft tissue examination and then screen for signs of gum disease, also known as periodontal disease. Then, our dental hygienist will complete a detailed charting of cavities, existing restorations including fillings and crowns, and other pre-existing tooth conditions.

With schedules being busy for families, we recommend you allow about an hour for your dental hygiene appointment.
