At St. Joseph Orleans Dental Centre in Ottawa, we offer routine dental hygiene and examinations to all of our patients by our dental hygienists.
Why is dental hygiene important?
At St. Joseph Orleans Dental Centre, early detection and prevention are key to good oral health. With regular checkups from a dental hygienist, we'll be able to evaluate our particular dental hygiene risks and needs and tailor your oral health care and dental cleanings just for you. Your dental hygienist is your family's partner in oral health.
What happens at a dental hygiene appointment?
Our dental hygienists will begin with a comprehensive soft tissue examination and then screen for signs of gum disease, also known as periodontal disease. Then, our dental hygienist will complete a detailed charting of cavities, existing restorations that often includes fillings, crowns and other pre-existing tooth conditions.
How long does a dental hygiene appointment take?
With schedules being busy for families, we recommend you allow about an hour for your dental hygiene appointment.
