We'll do everything we can to make sure your child's first visit is fun, easy and stress-free – for both of you!
We take extra care when introducing children to the dentist's chair. In fact, we'll even give them a 'ride' on it and also let them check out how some of our 'cool equipment' works.
If your child feels ready after this, we will go ahead with their very first hygiene visit. If not, you can choose to bring them back when they are ready.
Excellent dental health maintenance begins in childhood. At St. Joseph Orleans Dental Centre, we recommend our young patients come to our office on a regular basis to learn and practice optimal oral health routines.
Regular hygiene cleanings and oral examinations are essential to maintain dental health as children grow and develop.
These early childhood visits will allow us to detect dental problems at very early stages, as well as help to avoid the development of dental anxiety as your child grows older.
Ideally, we want all of our patients to grow up with good dental health, and have a level of comfort while visiting the dentist.
If you have insurance that provides coverage for dental care, chances are it will cover at least a portion of the cost of your child's dental visits. Our Patient Coordinator is happy to work with you to navigate your insurance coverage so you can focus on getting your child the dental care they need.
The Government of Ontario offers free dental care for children 17 years and under, if they are eligible through the Healthy Smiles Ontario program, designed for lower-income families in need of support.
The program includes regular visits to a licensed dental provider and covers the costs of treatment including: check-ups, cleanings, fillings, x-rays, emergency dental care and more.
